Tobias Mayer to Keynote Scrum Day San Diego 2014

May 5th, 2014 San Diego, CAScrum Day San Diego is pleased to announce the exciting line-up for our one-day event scheduled for June 13th at the Marine Village Conference Center.  In addition to hearing all of the great successes from other Agile practitioners in San Diego County, the keynote speaker on June 13th, 2014 will be Tobias Mayer (@tobiasmayer), author of The People’s Scrum and curator of The Agile Library.  The title of the 2014 keynote will be “The Scrum Sacrifice“.  In this talk, Tobias will explore what we gain by making pragmatic compromises to Scrum and what we potentially sacrifice in order to simply get started.

According to Tobias, “Scrum is a paradigm-shifting ideology.  Trouble is, most leaders and managers don’t want to be shifted.  They’d rather have their existing beliefs endorsed, and so they look to Scrum as a  methodology to put a better face on existing ways of working.  They look to Scrum consultants the same way they may look to beauticians or plastic surgeons…It’s easy to see the error when the implementation fails, harder when there is some measurable success.”

Register now for Scrum Day San Diego and only pay $55 for ten great speakers, catered lunch from Rubicon Deli and a wonderful afternoon on Mission Bay!
