Michael K. Spayd

Chief Executive / Co-Founder, Agile Coaching Institute

 

From an early age, Michael has been wired to work with people and human systems. His one word purpose in life is transformation, for individual clients, for teams, organizational systems, but always beginning with his own transformation. Michael is a world leader in the Agile enterprise transformation space, currently authoring the book Coaching the Agile Enterprise, and the primary developer of the Integral Agile Transformation Framework™. He is a frequent speaker and sought-after teacher of Agile coaches, Enterprise coaches and executive leaders. Michael has been a leading voice in shaping the discipline of Agile coaching and Enterprise coaching with his work at the International Consortium for Agile, as well as development of the Agile Coaching Competency Framework.

In 2010, Michael co-founded the Agile Coaching Institute (ACI) with Lyssa Adkins, now considered by many to be the thought leader in the industry. As CEO, Michael has grown ACI from one course offering to three full-scale training and development programs for Agile leaders at all levels, leveraging a core staff of five leaders into a $2M company with a world wide footprint, a passionately dedicated student following, and a ground-breaking set of organizational practices.

Michael is a lifelong student of how to get the most out of himself, having taken immersive programs in leadership, professional coaching and facilitation, organizational transformation, psychology, as well as having survived two extended meditation retreats. He has a Masters degree in contemplative psychotherapy, is certified as a professional systems coach and professional facilitator, and maintains several Agile industry-related credentials. He lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest, in a magical town called Friday Harbor.


Peter Green

Agile Organization and Leadership Coach, Agile For All

 

Peter Green led a grass roots Agile transformation at Adobe from 2005 to 2015, starting with his own team, Adobe Audition. His influence includes the teams behind such software flagships as Photoshop, Acrobat, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro, as well as dozens of internal IT and platform technology teams and groups like marketing and globalization.

His work was a major factor enabling Adobe product teams to make critical business transition from perpetual desktop products to the subscription-based service, Creative Cloud. His hands-on Scrum and Agile training and coaching at all levels of the organization, including management and executives, helped lay the groundwork to shift teams from two-year product cycles to frequent delivery of high-quality software and services.

He is a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST), Innovation Games Qualified Instructor, and Leadership Agility 360 and The Leadership Circle practitioner. Peter focuses primarily on Agile Leadership development as a catalyst for organizational transformation towards healthy, purpose driven results.


Alicia McLain

Principal, Operational Innovations
 

Alicia is a Lean Agile Transformation | Executive Coach with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry with leadership positions in program management and software development management. Her clients are in the Department of Defense (DoD), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Medical Device, Medical Research and Manufacturing space. Alicia coaches, trains and transforms mid-size to large companies domestically and internationally. She has been a facilitator of change and transformation to an agile approach using Scrum in a number of companies including: Tapestry Solutions, CareFusion, FNIS, Oracle and others. Alicia’s career passion has been around building high performing teams. As a coach who has led and witnessed the transformation of people, attitudes, hearts and minds towards high performance using Agile practices, she is passionate about being of service to help teams and organizations get there!!

Alicia is the founder and co-organizer of the Agile Coaching Exchange for Southern California (ACE:SoCal), the first meet up group of its kind established in the United States in partnership with the original group in London. This group is in service to the Agile coaching community from CSM up for members who would like to enhance their skill set, share ideas, and take their coaching careers to the next level.


Zack Bonaker

Zach is a San Diego based agile coach who specializes in bringing lean, systems thinking to organizations and teams over varying sizes across the country. As a mentor in Agile software development and coach to individuals, Zach builds relationships to help transform behaviors towards safer and faster ways of delivering high quality software. In his career, Zach has guided Agile product development in a wide range of organizations and industries, from the Fortune 500 to multi-million VC funded startups. When he isn’t thinking about next-generation businesses, Zach can be found enjoying the sunny west coast weather and connecting with people all over the world.


Heidi Helfand

 Principal Agile Coach, AppFolio, Inc.

 

Heidi Helfand has 17 years coaching and influencing cross-functional teams at pioneering web software companies. At Expertcity, Inc. (acquired by CitrixOnline) she was on the initial team that built GoToMyPC, GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. She is currently Principal Agile Coach at AppFolio, Inc., a SAAS workflow software company with property management and legal practice management software. Prior to that, Heidi consulted for the State Dept. on website development, and has taught ESL at several US Universities. She has an M.A. in teaching from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF).
